The polar and grizzly bears are the largest animal predators on Earth. Weighing more than 500 kilos with a length of almost 3 meters, this bear is double the size of a Siberian tiger. Polar bears have a thick layer of fat in order to be able to defy the extreme Arctic cold. They also have an undercoat and a layer of transparent protective hair. As a result they can swim and hunt in very low temperatures. Polar bears are very good swimmers and have even been seen 300 kilometers from the coast. When searching for food the polar bear has the benefit of a highly sensitive sense of smell. They can perceive a smell that is one and a half kilometers away or buried one metre under the snow! Their hearing and sight are comparable to that of a human. Polar bears are loners, but they have no fixed territory and enjoy playing with each other. The mating season is in May and during gestation the female polar bear almost triples her weight.
Schleich products are made of various plastics and paints. These are carefully selected on the basis of the specific requirements. Among the most important plastics types we use are polyvinyl chloride (PVC), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), actrylnitril butadiene styrene (ABS) and other typical plastics for toys. Starting at the material suppliers, there is strict scrutiny from our quality assurance representatives. The paints used are perfectly adapted to the various types of plastic and have the greatest mechanical and chemical resistance. They ensure that Schleich products last a long time and make all of our products resistant to perspiration, saliva and wear – meaning they are completely safe to play with. The product is released for production only when it meets all the laws, standards and guidelines.
Returns Policy
DUE TO ACCIDENTAL ORDER OR CHANGE OF MINDWe offer refunds and/or exchanges, providing a request for return is received within 30 days of your order being delivered. Your item must be in its original packaging and in the same condition that you received it.
The return shipping costs will be the responsibility of you, the customer. For domestic orders (AUS & USA) a prepaid shipping label can be provided, with the associated costs being deducted from the refunded amount. International (Asia) returns will need to be arranged by the customer, and will require a tracking number.
Any refund or exchange will only be issued once the original item has been shipped back to us.
DUE TO DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED ITEM
In the unlikely event you receive a defective or damaged item, we offer you the choice of a full refund or a replacement. We will cover all return shipping costs.
Please report any issue within 5 days of receiving your item. We kindly ask that you provide clear evidence of the fault or damage, so we can expedite your request efficiently.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
